Where's the "choice" in the Employee Free Choice Act

As if Auto Dealers didn't have enough problems...here comes the Employee Free Choice Act!

The Employee Free Choice Act changes the way unions are organized.  The irony is that the Employee Free Choice Act (HR800 and S1041) introduced into the 110th Congress, effectively eliminates choice by doing away with the Secret Ballot and formal elections...and replacing them with a "Card Check" system.

Instead of a secret ballot workers will be asked to sign cards until a majority of employess agree to have a union represent them.

Since organizers will know who signed and who didn't, workers are much more open to intimidation.  And since there's no formal election, the card signing can be done in secret, denying management the opportunity to present an alternative view.

Once a majority of workers have signed cards, dealers have 120 days to agree to a collective bargaining agreement.  If an agreement is not reached, the goverment steps in and sets the contract for two years.  How about that for "choice."

No election, no secret ballot.  All the union organizers need is 30% of the workers to sign a card and voilla.

This is just one more thing flying under the radar that the Obama administration is working diligently to pass...making it easier for their union cohorts to organize...effectively closing more dealerships and adding more disgruntled workers to the welfare roles.

If you think your service and repair bills are high now...wait until the dealerships become unionized.

Think it can't happen?  The average dealership has about 50 employees (20 technicians).  How much is 30% of 20?  Six!  All the union needs to do is persuede six technicians, to unionize the whole shop.

As if the unions haven't done enough to jeopordize the survival of the auto industry already.

AIGRRRRRG!

Okay, we're all upset over the million dollar bonus' paid to AIG executives...most of us anyway.

How could they be so insensitive to the plight of the American people?  How can executives, like those at American Airlines, justify huge bonus' after laying off 27,000 workers?  They should be ashamed...so say the pundits and talking heads.

Ashamed?  These people are laughing all the way to the bank.  Do you think they care what you think?  Do you think they care about you at all?  If someone gave you a million dollars, would you give it back?  For the good of America?  Yeah, right.

They don't walk in your shoes.  They don't feel your pain.  They're not going to run into you at McDonalds.

Carl Reiner said it best in History of the World, "It's good to be the King."  Right, Mr. President?

Like kids in a candy store...this is only the beginning.

We now have four years of unfettered political payback.  They're in control.  You can't stop it.  And if you think they're embarrassed about plunging you, your children, your grandchildren (perhaps your great grandchildren) into trillions of dollars in debt, think again.

They're going to take all the "candy" they can, while it's there for the taking.  Surprised?
